1957 Harley-Davidson ST 165 

The lightweight 2-stroke Harleys were produced from 1948 to 1966. The design was a copy of the DKW RT125, acquired at the end of World War II from the occupied German manufacturer. It was hoped that the introduction of lightweight motorcycles like the 165would bring younger buyers into Harley-Davidson dealerships, with the idea that they would move up to one of the full-size models at a later date. The ST 165 was priced at $445 (about $3,618 in 2012).

My dad bought us a 1960 version of this bike. 35 in 2nd, 40 in 3rd. You could go faster down hill with the wind. Pop said I looked like a trained bear on the bike.
