This modified 900SS is the actual machine raced by World Champion Mike Hailwood in the 1979 Isle of Man TT race. Unable to repeat his 1978 victory, he settled for fifth place after suffering a battery cable problem late in the race. The success of both bike and rider resulted in the production of the “Mike Hailwood Replica,” or MHR, the following year.
