Though eBay is full of interesting and unusual motorcycles, I can't remember the last time I saw a Ducati 860 GT for sale. Though this one isn't perfect, if you're a fan of the love-it-or-hate-it styling, this Duc may be for you.

According to the Standard Catalog of Ducati Motorcycles by Ian Falloon, only 776 860 GT's were produced for the U.S. market, and all of them were producted for the 1974 model year, so this may well be a 1974 model that was titled in 1975.

The 860 GT was redesigned and restyled in an effort to make it more attractive for the U.S. market and also to make it more reliable and lessen needed maintenance. Though, as Falloon's book bluntly points out, "The 860 GT replaced the 750 GT after 1974, but it was ugly, unreliable and not a success."

According to Falloon's book, many changes were made from the 750 GT. The frame was shorter and the CEV switches and electrical system were completely new, but "... it is questionable whether they were an improvement, and there were many updates during the first year of production. Responding to poor sales, Ducati hurriedly restyled the 860 GT during 1975 to create the 860 GTS."

Despite all that, if the 860 GT is your cup of tea, this one looks to be in mostly orignal condition, with approximately 15,000 original miles. According to the auction, it has a new battery, everything works, and it runs great. The seat does look to have some stitching issues and the paint isn't perfect. We've never seen one with this paint scheme, so further research may be needed to find out if the paint is original or not.

Rarely seen and even more unusual to find for sale, this 1969 Kawasaki W2 would make an interesting and unusual project perfect for a winter restoration.

According to the auction, only 41 of these were imported into the U.S. for 1969, so it's not something you see every day. Though it doesn't come with a title, it should be pretty easy to secure a title for it in most states due to its age. The bike appears to be mostly complete, and the auction states that it turns over with good compression, and that transmission static shifts through the gears.
