Found on eBay: 1972 Suzuki T500 Titan

This past summer, while working on the September/October 2010 issue of Motorcycle Classics, we received a set of photos from photographer Nick Cedar for an upcoming story, and our chins hit the floor. Nick had shot a great set of photos of a lovely 1972 Suzuki Titan T500, and we were stoked to get them ready to run in the magazine.

Today’s run through eBay for interesting motorcycles made me do a double-take: Was it the same 1972 Suzuki T500?

Further examination has us saying no. Our photo bike was located in California, and the current owner of the eBay T500 lives in Nebraska. Though the auction doesn’t specifically say how long the bike has been with its current owner, we’re betting the owner of our magazine feature bike, Tony Silveira, still has his and that this is another well-cared-for Titan.

According to the auction, this T500 has a clean and clear title and runs strong in all gears. It appears to be very clean an in lovely original condition. According to the auction, the bike comes with the original tool kit, owners manual and a pair of NOS baffles. The battery was replaced last summer, the tires are good, and the lights and indicators work.

Found on eBay: 1978 Honda CB750F Super Sport

This week's eBay find may not be the rarest bike we've featured here, but with another round of fresh snow on the ground here in February, it's definately the one that's got us thinking about a lovely spring Sunday-morning ride.

The 1978 Honda CB750F Super Sport was the last model year to feature the single overhead cam, 736cc inline four cylinder, and while not perfect, this bike seems to be in pretty decent condition, aside from a few cosmetic issues. According to the auction, the bike has freshly rebuilt carburetors and orignial paint. The seller does mention that the gas tank has a small dent on both sides, along with a bit of rust pitting on the speedometer and tachometer covers. The tachometer cover also has a small dent in it, and the seller also mentions that it is due for a new set of tires. Still, as best we can tell from the photos, the bike looks to be in pretty decent overall shape, and the seller says it runs well. We think this would make a nice, affordable way to get out on the road. Buy it, add some new tires and a quick round of maintenance, and be on the road as soon as spring gets here!
