Found on eBay: 1983 Honda CX650E

If this bike looks familiar but you just can't put a finger on why, you're not alone. Yes, it looks sort of like a 1983 Honda CX650T, the turbocharged V-twin that was availabile in the U.S. for just one year. But the fairing looks different somehow, and it's missing the giant "Turbo" lettering on the exhaust. Why you ask? Because it's not a Turbo.

This 1983 Honda CX650E is the non-turbo version of the CX650 that was popular in Europe, but never sold in the U.S. This particular bike was brought onto the continent through Canada and now lives in Florida. According to the auction, the bike is much the same as the Turbo, "but with out the heat, spool-up time, and low reliability of the turbo bike."

The CX650E shares the same liquid-cooled and shaft-drive set up as the Turbo, and the listing says this bike has no issues other than an "intermittent squeak in the rear suspension somewhere, and faded graphics. Otherwise starts, runs, shifts, stops perfectly. And looks great doing it."

We think it would make a great all-around ride, and the joy of having something unusual just adds to the fun. To visit the auction for this 1983 Honda CX650E, go here.

Found on eBay: 1974 Ducati 750 Super Sport

duc

Though we often feature fun and affordable bikes, this week we came across an auction that we just had to share. No, your eyes aren't lying to you. That really is a green-frame Ducati 750 Super Sport, and yes, it really is for sale. But boy is the price a stunner.

As we put together this blog, the current bid is $77, 211, and the auction says that the reserve has still not been met. Accoding to the listing, the motorcycle is part of a collection that is being sold, and the odometer reads just 11,702 kilometers (or 7,271 miles). The auction states that the bike is in fantastic condition, although it has been repainted at some point. It is missing it's mirror, which should be on the left handlebar, and there is a scuff on the left exhaust, but it comes with a Ducati tool kit.

The listing doesn't list anything about how the bike runs, as it hasn't been started or run since it's been in the collection. But if you're buying the bike at this price, the cost of getting it up and running isn't probably much of a concern to you.

Found on eBay: 1977 Yamaha XS750D

xs750 triple

This week's eBay find is a very nice Yamaha XS750 triple that's been lovingly maintained through the years. With just more than 26,000 miles, this bike is as nice as they come and ready for spring and summer riding.

According to the auction, this bike still wears its original paint and the original stock 3-into-1 exhaust system. The chrome is in nice, original condition. The forks have been rebuilt and the gas tank is clean. The bike is also equipped with an AGM battery.
