Found on eBay: 1972 Suzuki GT750

 suzukigt750

Though it's got a few miles on it for being a collector-grade bike, this is one of the nicest Suzuki GT750s we've ever seen for sale.

Now in the hands of its third owner, it's in unrestored condition with 26,300 miles, and the owner states that the only non-original items on the bike are the brand new Dunlop Gold Seal tires. The owner also states that if bought at the Buy it Now price, it includes the original tool kit, shop manual, parts manual and literature collection.

More from the owner: "This bike is a turnkey, one or two button pushes ride-a-way that’s still has excellent compression according to the operator manual. There are no leaks and the crank seals work excellent.  All instruments and lights work with the bike itself needing absolutely nothing! All rubber components to include the tires, foot pegs, handgrips, grommets, are all original, flawless, and display no signs of dry rot or fade. I did replace the grips and footpeg rubber, but even they were soft and pliable at the time. The fuel tank, side covers, rear cowl, front fender, and all stripes/graphics are without a single dint or ding."

Found on Ebay: 1964 Triumph T-100 Tiger

This week's searching led us to something that's becoming more and more rare: a nice, used Sixties Triumph that hasn't been fully restored.

This 1964 Triumph T-100 has matching numbers, and though the engine and the transmission have been rebuilt, it still wears the orignal paint it left the factory with. The bike wears new front forks and seals, new rear shocks, a new seat and more.

Found on eBay: 1973 BMW R75/5 Toaster

bmwr75-5red.jpg

As summer begins to wind down a bit, our thoughts begin to change from week-long tours to perfect Sunday cruises. Several of us around here have had the chance to live with and enjoy BMW R75/5s over the years, and though they made and sold plenty of them in the U.S., prices seem to be rising steadily, making now the time to get your hands on one before they're all tucked away.

This R75/5 is a 1973 model, which means it could be either a short wheelbase or long wheelbase model, as BMW added  50mm to the length of the swingarm early in the 1973 model year to steady the bike and resolve a bit of "twitchiness" that testers of earlier /5 models had complained about.

Though this bike looks as though it has received a good amount of attention over the past few years, there's more work to be done. It sounds as though the back brake isn't working properly, and the speedometer cluster needs to be replaced or rebuilt. The auction doesn't give us any guess of how many miles are on the bike, but does mention that the engine was recently rebuilt, and that it has new carbs, new pipes, a new seat, new shocks and new tires. Depending on the auction reserve, this could be one heck of a deal.

Visit the Larz Anderson Classic European Motorcycle Day!

larz

If you live in the Northeast, you may already be familiar with the Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Brookline, Mass. The Museum is home to a great collection of classic and vintage automobiles, and this marks the 16th year for the museum's Classic European Motorcycle Day, a great event featuring a bike show, awards, a swap meet, and demo rides of new Ducati motorcycles.

The Museum is home to a permanent collection of automobiles, but since 1927 the surrounding grounds have also been home to a schedule of "Lawn Events," which grew out of a Sunday Afternoon tradition begun by the Anderson family who would open the doors to the carriage house on Sunday afternoons so that the general public could admire their mounting collection of American and European cars. Today, Lawn Events are hosted almost every Saturday and Sunday throughout the spring, summer, and fall, highlighting a variety of vehicles and eras.

Bring your vintage or new European cycle and head to the Museum, where a full breakfast menu will be available beginning at 8:30 a.m., provided by Euro Delights Catering. Spectator admission is just $10 for adults and $5 for seniors, students and children from 6-12. Motorcycle show registration is also just $10. All proceeds benefit the Larz Anderson Auto Museum.

Found on eBay: 1977 MV Agusta 750S America Magni

magni750s

As if a stock MV Agusta 750S America wouldn't be enough to get our attention, this week's eBay searching led us to this: a 1977 MV Agusta 750S America with an Arturo Magni frame.

Sure, it's located in Germany, but thanks to the wonders of the internet and transcontinental shipping, it can be yours, for a price. According to the auction, the bike is a one-owner and " is in a very good optical and technical condition." We take that to mean it looks good and runs well. Judging by the video on the eBay listing, we know it sounds good, and the auction also states that the bike comes with the original frame. To visit the auction for this lovely MVAgusta 750S America, go here.
