1953 Indian Chief

The open fender, rigid-frame Indian Chiefs are rarer than the later full-skirted fender models. These rigid-frame Chiefs had superior acceleration than the later models, where relatively light weight and a larger capacity engine were a good combination.

This was the first ever bike I sat on in Northern Ontario in 1958 at the age of 5. It belonged to my friend Tommy's 'Uncle'.
