 1950 Imme
1950 German-built Imme won "Most Unique" award at the 2009 Dania Beach Vintage Motorcycle Show. Immes featured a single-sided telescopic fork and a single-sided swingarm that also routed the exhaust (!); its 99cc two-stroke engine moved with the rear suspension. Immes were built from 1948-1951.

If you’re anywhere close to Florida, specifically the Fort Lauderdale area on Florida’s southeast coast, you should head to Dania Beach for the 5th Annual Dania Beach Vintage Motorcycle Show this weekend, January 29, 2011. Hosted by the Sunshine Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America, this show is the perfect way to hang out with fellow classic bike fans and beat the mid-winter blahs.

The bike show kicks off in Frost Park at 10 a.m., with an awards ceremony at 4 p.m. In between you can watch a motorcycle skill team do its stuff, participate in motorcycle field games or the vintage poker run, plus check out skateboard and roller derby demos. There will be special bicycle games for kids, and if you keep a sharp eye out you might even run into friend of the magazine Vicki Smith, who nabbed Best Competition machine last year for her 1968 Ducati 500GP and best Unrestored European for her 1973 Ducati 750GT. Expect a wide variety of machines, including some real rarities; last year’s show included a 1915 Mead Ranger Cyclemotor and a twin-engined 1958 Triumph.
