Trippin On Two Wheels: Dennis Gage (left), Neale Bayly and Sam Gage.

For the past month and a half, SPEED has been re-running the heck out of the first four episodes of Trippin on Two Wheels, much to the delight of viewers starved for decent motorcycle programming. But this Sunday, January 18, at 11:00 am ET (8:00 am PT) motorcycle fans will be treated to the premiere airing of Trippin’ Episode 5; the first one shot in High Def!

In this one, SPEED’s mustache mavin, Dennis Gage, his teenage son, Sam, and motorcycle photojournalist and Motorcycle Classics regular contributor Neale Bayly ride the new Aprilia Shiver through northern Italy and Switzerland. The bikes are awesome, the vistas are stunning, and a good time is always had by all when these three get together. You can watch a trailer of this episode at http://www.trippinontwowheelstv.com/ItalySwitzerland/.

We’ve raved about Trippin’ On Two Wheels before, and for good reason; this is quality motorcycle TV, not mind-numbing pap glorifying unrideable “specials.” That seems to be what the networks want us to watch, but what we really want to see are cool bikes in great locales, ridden by real enthusiasts living the motorcycle life to the fullest. That’s Trippin’ On Two Wheels. If you're new to all of this, read our interview with Dennis Gage for an inside look at his collection of classic bikes and his passion for motorcycling.

So tune in to SPEED this Sunday morning at 11:00 am ET (8:00 am PT) for an all new episode of Trippin’ on Two Wheels, and support quality motorcycle programming on the network! – Richard Backus

Enjoyed the first blog about Dennis and sons on the old Beemers. They've grasped an essential truth about vintage motorcycling- Speed is unimportant and enjoyment is the point. I can't wait to read more and see the show, but I have a problem. I subscribe to SPEED though ATT cable and can never find Trippin on Two Wheels in any listing. The only one ever shown in the year I've had this service was the Swiss Adventure. No other episodes have been shown. Any idea what's going on? Are there regional differences in SPEED programming? Thanks, Todd in Detroit

Great! Hope I can remember to watch or to record it! You're right, most of the stuff on TV about motorcycles is "crap". Sadly, most of the stuff on SPEED is now "crap" also. I hardly ever watch the channel anymore except for F1 and MotoGP.
