Found on eBay: 1957 Ariel Red Hunter
By Landon Hall
We see a lot of nice Triumphs and BSAs on eBay every week, but it’s been a long time since we’ve seen an Ariel this pretty! This find is a 1957 Ariel Red Hunter, and was restored by a previous owner to the fine condition you see it in here.
According to the auction, the engine was rebuilt, the transmission was checked and serviced, the wiring was redone, and all the rubber pieces were replaced except for the footpegs. It wears the correct Avon tires in almost-new condition, and the original exhaust has been rechromed.
It’s been in static display for the last year, so it will need to be serviced before it’s ready to ride, but this looks to be a quality restoration of a very cool bike. The auction also appears to be listed without a reserve, so this is definitely an auction to watch!

Somewhere along the line, Tridents have gotten a reputation as dogs — slow, unresponsive dogs. But not this one, built by Scott Dunlavey.
