Found on eBay: 1970 Yamaha R5

Tags: ,

Searching through eBay this week led us to a very cool find: a low-mile, original, unmolested Yamaha R5. Ready to ride and enjoy, this could be a great first classic for a new owner, or a fine addition to someone’s collection of Seventies Japanese metal.

With just 2,724 miles, this R5 is definitely a survivor. It still wears its original purple and white paintjob, which despite a small dent in the tank, seems to be in outstanding condition. It does wear an aftermarket windshield, but that’s an easy thing to remove.

According to the auction, the bike idles, runs, shifts and stops just like it should. The seat appears to be in great condition, and all of the brightwork looks, well, quite bright.
