I am a new rider and a new subscriber to Motorcycle Classics. I love your magazine. I just read your article Yesterday is Back (May/June 2013) and I feel it definitely is.

I recently restored a 1971 Honda CL100 that my father bought back in 1973 (he rode it a short time before moving up to a 1975 Harley-Davidson Super Glide 1200) and have been enjoying it ever since. I can’t get enough of it. What a joy it is to ride around town. It makes me feel like it’s the Seventies all over again. It gets a lot of attention from other riders and people passing by. I think it is such a great way to get around. Keep up the good work! —Tom Jaworski/Prospect Heights, Ill.

Had an SL100 converted to dirt only with a Radically built engine. Beat the tar out of it for a few years & eventually gave it to my brother who beat the tar out of it for a few more years. Almost indestructible. Later had a STOCK CB100. I turned the handle bars upside down, added 2 teeth to the primary sprocket, got on board under the paint & went 90mph. Incredible machines. Too much fun. Thanks Honda!

i had both a cb100 and an SL 100(my first bike) at the same time.in 1975 they were all i could afford. i loved the SL but the CB just was too slow.i traded the CB for a Hodaka super rat which was great too. i dont remember what happened to the SL strangely enough. i always wanted to get another one so when i recently came across a 73 XL100 i bought it and am currently turning it into a 71 SL. they are almost identical so it shouldnt be too hard. 40 years later its still fun to ride though.

Great post! I had a CB 100 that I bought new in 1971, and had great fun with. It was nearly indestructable. Check out the Sym Wolf 150 - it's nearly identical to the CB 100, with 50 ccs more displacement. It's over 3 grand, though, and I think i paid $420 for my CB 100 back in the day....
