1946 Harley Davidson UL
A ten year restoration to build a Deluxe UL model using almost entirely OEM parts. Freshly rebuilt motor and transmission. Features NOS factory wiring harness, grips, and two year kick pedal. By 1940 the venerable flathead UL model engine had been thoroughly sorted out by Harley Davidson engineers, making it one of the most reliable models of its time. But taking leads from the new overhead valve Model E and EL, the engineers adapted a dry sump lubrication system and four-speed transmission to the flathead model, reining it even more in the process.
1949 Indian Sport Scout
This 1949 Indian Sport Scout is probably the best available. 3,500 original miles. Every option available was installed. Starts and runs great. Rare original factory yellow paint. Previously owned by Chapman S. Root Auto Museum of Coca-Cola bottling fame, Daytona, Florida. On November 1, 1945, duPont formally turned the operations of Indian over to Ralph B. Rogers of the UK. In 1950-51 under Rogers’ control, Indian discontinued the Scout and began to manufacture lightweight 149 Arrow and 250 Scout models. These bikes suffered from poor quality and a lack of development. Manufacture of all products was halted in 1953.
