Bonhams Motoring Department Continues to Expand With the Addition of Specialist Tim Parker
San Francisco – Bonhams is pleased to announce that Tim Parker has been welcomed to the US Motorcycle team, where he will focus on augmenting the already renowned expertise of the world’s leading auctioneers of motorcycles.
Originally from Cambridge, England, , Tim grew up next to Archie Scott-Brown, the heroic one-armed driver, and down the street from the Lister works, which seemed to set the stage for Tim’s life.
A career in publishing ensued, focusing on motor-related titles and the opportunity to work with some of the most respected authors in the industry. Having begun his career at Speed and Sports Publications in the UK early in his career, Tim then finished his tenure in the business as CEO of Motorbooks International in the US.
Tim himself is a published author as well as an avid racer – from Daytona to frozen lakes racing. He possesses a wealth of knowledge on post-war motorcycles with a particular emphasis on Italian marques. He is a recognized authority on Laverda, for example, and enjoys restoring and “exercising” vintage and classic machinery regularly.
“Tim is an excellent addition to our team,” said Jakob Greisen, Bonhams head of business development for the US West Coast. “Like most of us in the Motoring Department, he has inextricably intertwined his life with bikes and cars, and his knowledge and enthusiasm reflect this passion. We look forward to welcoming another motorcycle specialist aboard.”
To contact Tim (who lives just outside Minneapolis) with questions, or to consign a motorcycle to a forthcoming Bonhams auction, please e-mail tim.parker@bonhams.com or call 651-235-2776.
