Arai helmets, a major auto racing force in addition to its motorcycle road racing dominance, saw its drivers sweep the podium at the rain-shortened NASCAR Pennsylvania 400 at Pocono Raceway last weekend.
Jeff Gordon, who became Arai’s first NASCAR driver 15 years ago, took the checkered flag, followed by fellow Arai drivers Kasey Kahne and Martin Truex Jr. respectively.Thevictory moved Gordon into second place in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Wild Card standings, while Kahne is leading the standings. Truex is fifth in Sprint Cup Series standings.
Arai Helmets would also like to extend its deepest sympathy to the family of the spectator killed by lightning while standing next to his car in the track parking lot during the severe storms that forced the 400’s early termination.
Arai Helmets have been a dominant force in auto racing, claiming five of the last seven Formula 1 world championships, including the reigning champion, Sebastian Vettel, four of the last five IndyCar championships, again with current champion Dario Franchitti, sweeping the podium at this year’s Indianapolis 500, and seeing its NASCAR stable grow to over 20 drivers in 2012.And you thought Arai only made great motorcycle helmets?
