The 12th Annual Barber Vintage Festival happens this weekend! Make plans to be there and to join Motorcycle Classics on Saturday for our 12th Annual Barber Vintage Bike Show featuring Ducati and special guests Vee Two Australia with their Ducati special powered by Vee Two’s Ritorno Twin. Attend one of our five technical seminars and don’t miss the Motorcycle Classics Ride ‘Em, Don’t Hide ‘Em Alabama Run, a quick and fun run to Alabama’s “Mini-Dragon” and back.

The ride happens Sunday, Oct. 9, at 10 a.m., starting and ending at the Motorcycle Classics tent in the Fan Zone. The ride is a short 32.5 miles, but you’ll be well-rewarded for a run down what some call Alabama’s “Mini-Dragon,” an obvious reference to the famous – or is that infamous? – Tail of the Dragon in North Carolina. We’ll have route sheets at the tent, and you can preview the route here on an interactive page (make sure to go to full screen) that takes you around the route from start to finish. Short and sweet, and really, really fun?

The appearance of the Vee Two Ducati special will be highlighted by regular starts of the Vee Two’s Ritorno Twin, a modern recreation of the iconic Ducati bevel-drive desmo V-twin and now in production Australia-based Vee Two. Vee Two’s own Andrew Cathcart, son of motoscribe and regular Motorcycle Classics contributor Alan Cathcart, will set the bike up in front of the Motorcycle Classics tent, firing it up for onlookers at regular intervals. Andrew will also present two seminars at our tent, one at 1 p.m. on Friday and another at 2 p.m. on Sunday, on bevel engine design, lending his insight gleaned from years of gearing up to make the Ritorno Twin. Presentations from Randall Washington of Randakk’s Cycle Shakk (2 p.m. Friday), Spectro Oils (10 a.m. Saturday) and Race Tech Suspension (noon on Saturday) round out our seminar schedule.

The Motorcycle Classics Vintage Bike Show happens Saturday, Oct. 8, with registration starting at 9 a.m., judging at 1:30 p.m. and awards at 3 p.m. Guest judges will include Barber Museum’s Brian Slark, Alan Cathcart and Andrew Cathcart, and Brian Slark has arranged for event special guest and World Superbike Champion Colin Edwards to award trophies at our show! Don’t miss it! MC
