After hitting the new AMCA national meet, turn your scoot north and head for Chicago, Illinois, for the Motoblot 2016 Urban Motorcycle & Hot Rod Street Rally, June 24-26, 2016.
The third in a series under the Motoblot name (it was formerly billed as Mods vs. Rockers), the event brings thousands of vintage bike fans out into the streets of Chicago for a three-day celebration featuring live bands (the Rockabilly Rumble will feature 20 bands) and hundreds of vintage and custom motorcycles.
Headquartered at the Cobra Lounge at the intersection of North Ashland Avenue and West Fulton Street just west of downtown Chicago, Motoblot also features dozens of food and motorcycle parts vendors including folks like BellaCorse, The Guzzi Doctor, Indian, Analog Motorcycles and more, all lining the streets along with the hundreds of cool custom and stock vintage bikes.
Motoblot includes a people’s choice show, with trophies awarded in 16 categories including vintage, modern, custom and classic. There’s also the Triumph Ride-Away Sweepstakes, with a brand new 2016 Triumph Bonneville being given away to some lucky rider. Making things easy, attendees are automatically entered when they buy tickets to the event. You don’t have to be present to win, but the winner will be announced Sunday, June 26, at 4 p.m. In addition to the sweepstakes, look for the Annual Miss Motoblot Pin-Up Contest, and if you go keep an eye out for all the cool stuff that happens at a street party that you just can’t plan for, including random rebuilds in the street.
A decidedly cool event held in one of the epicenters of the burgeoning custom classic scene, Motoblot is one of the greatest street events of the year. Weekend pass, $30. Single day admission, $10. MC
