Yvon and Miquel Duhamel
Riding Into History is proud to announce father and son legendary motorcycle racers Yvon and Miguel Duhamel as the Grand Marshals for our 18th Annual Motorcycle Concours d’Elegance, May 20, 2017 at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Florida.
This father and son have succeeded in more racing events than most any other motorsports racers. Yvon has been inducted in the International Snowmobile Racing Hall of Fame, Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame, Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame, and the AMA Hall of Fame. He has raced in every style of motorcycle racing, from motocross to dirt track, road racing and drag racing. Yvon even was a world champion snowmobile racer. Yvon went to work for Kawasaki as one of their factory riders when they were racing the three cylinder two stroke motorcycles and they needed an expert rider to tame these powerful machines. Yvon did just that with Kawasaki’s first AMA national victory at Talladega in 1971.
Miguel just joined his father in both the AMA Hall of Fame and the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame. Miguel was the first Canadian to win an AMA Superbike title and won 23 AMA Superbike races during his career. He is tied for the most wins (5) of the Daytona 200. Miguel also won 5 Supersport championships and still holds the wins record with 40. While best known for his Honda rides, Miguel also raced the ill-fated Harley Davidson VR1000, as well as MotoGP on the Italian Cagtiva.
Riding Into History is honored to have this historical father and son team as our Grand Marshals for 2017. It is sure to be a fun event this year with them both!
