If you live in the Northeast, you may already be familiar with the Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Brookline, Mass. The Museum is home to a great collection of classic and vintage automobiles, and this marks the 16th year for the museum’s Classic European Motorcycle Day, a great event featuring a bike show, awards, a swap meet, and demo rides of new Ducati motorcycles.
The Museum is home to a permanent collection of automobiles, but since 1927 the surrounding grounds have also been home to a schedule of “Lawn Events,” which grew out of a Sunday Afternoon tradition begun by the Anderson family who would open the doors to the carriage house on Sunday afternoons so that the general public could admire their mounting collection of American and European cars. Today, Lawn Events are hosted almost every Saturday and Sunday throughout the spring, summer, and fall, highlighting a variety of vehicles and eras.
Bring your vintage or new European cycle and head to the Museum, where a full breakfast menu will be available beginning at 8:30 a.m., provided by Euro Delights Catering. Spectator admission is just $10 for adults and $5 for seniors, students and children from 6-12. Motorcycle show registration is also just $10. All proceeds benefit the Larz Anderson Auto Museum.
