Around the World on a 1979 Royal Enfield Bullet
Julian Shrestha, president of Vintage Motorcycle Club Nepal, sends news of plans for an 18-month ride around the world on his 1979 Royal Enfield Bullet. Julian regularly updates us on VMCN club activities, and by all appearances his commitment to his native Nepal and vintage motorcycles is paying off, garnering attention from outside and inside interests as well, with the Nepal Ministry of Culture, Tourism & Civil Aviation and other government agencies backing his round-the-world trip.
He’s been successful getting commercial support for the club’s activities, and he’s hoping to garner more outside support for his World Motorcycle Trip, part of Nepal Tourism Decade 2020, a program that hopes to boost tourism in his native Nepal.
Julian will start in India, departing February 15. He’ll ride through Pakistan, Iran and Turkey before heading up through Bulgaria and into Europe, then the U.K. He’ll ship his Enfield from the U.K. to Canada, then ride across North America and South America before shipping the Enfield to Africa for the return ride through the Middle East and East Asia. Julian’s looking for support and suggestions to help him complete his ride, and anyone interested in playing a part of this epic journey is encouraged to follow him on his Facebook page or contact him via email at firstname.lastname@example.orgMC
