The Bonneville Vintage GP ads a classic motorcycle touch to Bonneville Salt Flats racing.

In the world of motorcycle racing, there are places and events that have become legendary: the Isle of Man, Laguna Seca, Brands Hatch, Daytona and more. In 2006 you can be part of a new event at a new world class racetrack — the largest in North America — that’s doing its best to become a legend in its own right. The inaugural Bonneville Vintage GP will take place Sept. 15-17 at Miller Motorsports Park in Toole, Utah.

And if you want an extended weekend of Bonneville Salt Flats racing, come early and venture out to Wendover, Utah, for the World of Speed Event on Thursday, Sept. 14. The Utah Salt Flats Racing Association has invited American Historic Motorcycle Racing Association (AHRMA) members and spectators to race on the salt the day before road race practice at Miller. This will not be an official AHRMA event, but classes will be the same as the roadrace classes. Other classes will also be available.

Friday’s schedule consists of a full day of AHRMA Roadrace practice. Saturday’s highlights include Round 14 of the AHRMA Roadraces along with the Concours d’ Elegance Vintage Motorcycle Show sponsored by Motorcycle Classics.

Sunday’s features include Round 15 of the AHRMA Roadraces, along with a custom bike show. Additional activities include a swap meet, demo rides, vendors and several performances of the Extreme Trials Exhibition, all running both Saturday and Sunday. MC
