Last call for the 4th Annual Road America Motorcycle Classic in Elkhart Lake, Wis., June 7-9, 2013! Vintage motorcycle racing takes center stage, with rounds 9 and 10 of the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association (AHRMA)/CPL Systems National Historic Cup Roadrace series. There’s also the Motorcycle Classics Road America Ride & Show, our annual Vintage Bike Show, plus a classic bike swap meet and club corrals. On your way there, stop in Milwaukee Thursday night for the Road America AHRMA Bike Night at the Harley-Davidson Museum.
The main action starts on Friday, June 7, as AHRMA racers start laying down some rubber on Road America’s famed 4-mile road course, priming themselves for two days of vintage racing on Saturday, June 8, and Sunday, June 9. AHRMA racers are especially encouraged to stop through Milwaukee Thursday night, June 6, on their way to Road America to take part in AHRMA’s vintage race bike display at the Harley-Davidson Museum, held in conjunction with the museum’s H-D Bike Night. Even if you’re not racing, throw your AHRMA racer in the van and bring it along. AHRMA members displaying their bikes will get free museum admission and food vouchers, plus trailer parking at the museum. Bike Night starts at 5 p.m. and runs till – well, when everyone leaves for Road America. Contact Wes Orloff at (414) 331-7747 or via email at racer1@wforacingonline.com for more info.
And don’t forget to bring your classic and join us Saturday, June 8, in our Ride & Show, with a relaxed 40-mile ride through the surrounding Wisconsin countryside followed by our Vintage Bike Show. We’ll award trophies in five classes, and your $30 Ride & Show entry fee includes a 1-year subscription to Motorcycle Classics and a Motorcycle Classics T-shirt. See you there! — Richard Backus
