The Santa Fe chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America will hold its 10th Annual Motorcycle Show & Swap Meet at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in Lawrence, Kansas, on Feb. 3, 2019. Yup, that’s Super Bowl Sunday, and the show is in full swing at 9 a.m., wrapping up by 3 p.m. so everyone can scoot on home to watch the game!

The annual Santa Fe show gets bigger every year, drawing an impressive selection of vintage American, European and Japanese motorcycles. It may be cold out, but that doesn’t stop — and maybe even encourages — enthusiasts from loading up their bikes to show them off. Last year’s event featured the surprise running of Dennis Franz’s homemade 392cc V8 motorcycle. Built in the style of a pre-30s American machine, it features an air-cooled 392cc, pushrod V8 made by Franz, who has decades of experience building scale engines. The transmission and shaft drive came from a /5 BMW, but outside of that, Franz built every piece of the bike, and it’s exceptional.
