Daytona Bike Week started in 1937 with the inaugural running of the Daytona 200, then run on the 3.2 mile beach and road course south of Daytona Beach. The legendary Ed Kretz was the first winner, riding an Indian averaging 73.34mph, and while much has changed, Bike Week is still the first big event of the riding season for many. Running March 4-13, this year the racing kicks off on Saturday, March 5, with the Daytona Supercross, while the finale, the Daytona 200, takes place the following Saturday, March 12. For more info, schedules, and specific locations of activities visit the official Daytona Bike Week

One of the great staples of Daytona Bike Week is the Annual Daytona Classic Motorcycle Auction, which runs March 9-11 in nearby DeLand, Fla., on the campus of Stetson University. Now in its 24th year, the auction has grown to a three-day event. The swap meet starts on Wednesday the 9th, while the Parts & Memorabilia Auction takes place Thursday the 10th. The main Classic Motorcycle Auction then finishes up the event on Friday, March 11.
