With the addition of silver paint and a couple of Confederate Flag graphics, a standard Sportster became a Confederate Edition. The same theme was applied to a limited number of Electra Glides and Super Glides.

A letter from Harley-Davidson to Joe “Saltarelo” (actually, Saltarello) at AMC Harley-Davidson in Albany, Ore. — the only acknowledgement by H-D of the Confederate Edition we’ve seen. Harley-Davidson, which had previously denied the model’s existence, bought Saltarello’s Confederate.
