Alan Comfort enjoying his 1976 Moto Guzzi 850 Le Mans Mk1.

When Robert Smith profiled the <a title=”Moto Guzzi 850 Le Mans Mk1″ href=”http://www.motorcycleclassics.com/classic-italian-motorcycles/1976-moto-guzzi-850-le-mans.aspx” target=”_blank”>Moto Guzzi 850 Le Mans Mk1 for the May/June 2006 issue of Motorcycle Classics, Alan Comfort’s 1976 model was the photo subject for the article. Based on the looks of Alan’s bike, it’s not suprising that he was very satisfied with his Guzzi. “I haven’t stopped smiling. It’s fabulous,” Alan says. “You couldn’t ask for a better bike. It goes well and stops well. And the sound it makes is like Luciano Pavarotti on full song.”

Of course, photos and descriptions only go so far in describing a thing of beauty. And when it comes to this bike’s heavenly sound, words don’t do this bike justice. Here’s a short video of a Moto Guzzi 850 Le Mans shot in the dark that’s worth watching for the awesome audio alone:
