The 11th annual Progressive Insurance Motoblot Chicago powered by Triumph will take place on June 25-28 in Chicago, Illinois, with a full weekend of motorcycles, events and live music. The weekend’s festivities begin with a VIP Kick Start Party and continue through the weekend with a vendor paddock, motorcycle show and live music from the Chicago School of Rock, among others.
Returning to Motoblot will be the highly anticipated Iron Moto Challenge, an “anything goes” build-off where four teams will compete for top honors as they each customize a Triumph motorcycle. The competition will feature three Chicago area Triumph dealers: Motoworks Chicago, Windy City and Woodstock, as well as a private builder.
“Our goal is to bring together all the facets of this unique motorcycle culture, the bikes, builders, music, art, fashion and give them a great urban setting where they can celebrate,” said Larry Fletcher, founder of Motoblot Chicago. “Motoblot is thrilled to continue its alliance with Triumph Motorcycles. Triumph is easily the favorite manufacturer of our attendees, all you have to do is look at the hundreds of Bonnevilles, Thruxtons and Scramblers that pour into the event.”
Triumph Motorcycles America has agreed to be the presenting sponsor of Motoblot Chicago for 2015 and 2016. Motoblot has established itself as one of the premier rallies for vintage and custom motorcycles with Chicago as the backdrop, the United States’ third-largest city.
“We’re excited to return as a partner with Motoblot. The event is a celebration of the motorcycle lifestyle, so it’s a perfect fit for the Triumph brand,” said Matt Sheahan, COO of Triumph Motorcycles America. “Motoblot continues to grow in attendance and the features expand for all to enjoy. It’s a must-do event that kicks off the summer riding season.”
Along with displaying various motorcycles, Triumph will also be offering a chance to win a $500 voucher for use on Triumph parts, accessories and clothing on the Triumph Motorcycle website. About Motoblot
In 2014 the architects of Mods vs Rockers Chicago made the bold move of creating an all-new event. MvR Chicago had set the standard and spawned many impersonators in its nine-year run and we felt that it was time for a change. The rally has greatly evolved from its modest beginnings in 2005 with a handful of like- minded cafe racers and scooterists hosting a grass roots gathering on Chicago’s North Lincoln Avenue to 2013 Mega Weekender with the Reverend Horton Heat headlining. The new event was no longer a salute to the rival youth cultures of early sixties England but now celebrates all of motorcycling’s rich culture and lifestyle.
