Triumph motorcycles will be the featured marque at the Motorcycle Classics/Dairyland Cycle Barber Vintage Bike Show at the 8th Annual Barber Vintage Festival on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012. Guest judges include Barber’s own Brian Slark, motorcycle journalist and vintage racer Alan Cathcart, and helping with the Triumph class Triumph North America CEO Greg Heichelbech!
Trophies will be awarded for Best Rider and Best Restored in five classes – American, Japanese, European, British, and Custom – and of course Best Triumph, our featured marque. We’ll also award a trophy for People’s Choice. Registration begins Friday, Oct. 12, and the show starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, with judging at 2 p.m. and our awards ceremony at 3 p.m. You can find more information on our show by clicking here.
When it comes to Barber, we’re something of a broken record, always saying the same thing: Don’t miss it! For our money, it’s unquestionably the coolest event on the vintage calendar, and if not the biggest soon to be. The mind-numbing collection of vintage motorcycles housed in the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum is reason enough to attend, but this event pulls out the stops, with AHRMA vintage racing and new this year the Jerry Woods CycleMarket & Auctions, the Ace Corner from the Ace Café, and the first-ever running of what we hope will become an annual regular, the MotoGiro South organized by the USCRA.
Also on Saturday, at 11 a.m. Matt Wiley, vintage suspension specialist for Race Tech, will give a one-hour seminar on how to improve the suspension on your vintage ride. Matt knows his stuff like few other people, so don’t miss this always popular tech seminar at the Motorcycle Classics tent in the Expo area.
Professional stunt riders Nick “Apex” Brocha and Ernie “EDub” Vigil will be on hand to entertain, the Race of the Century for motorcycles 100 years old or older returns, and parade laps of the Barber track will also be available at the end of each day.
